Hobby: Poertry. Published “Araspani” a collection of Marathi poems in April 2015. Another set of poems will be published soon.
Guru: Disciple of Goddess of Indian Traditional Folk Dances and a great mentor Late Kum. Indumatitai Lele at Sathaye College, Vileparle Mumbai.
Passion: Dance! What else? Dancing since 1995. Performed in many dance shows in India and Singapore.
Choreographer and lead dancer in Bhangra, Indian Punjabi Folk Dance performed in welcome event during Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s visit to Singapore.
Founded “Nupura Dance Academy” in September 2015 in view to spread Indian folk dances. Today teaching many kids and adult students across Singapore.
Future Plans: To introduce, impart lessons in Indian folk dance, music and drama.
Folk Dances are the real portrayal of Unity, integrity and diversity, the true essence of India!
It not only teaches basic concepts of grace, rhythm, synchronization, repetition, sequencing, patterning, predictability, anticipation, musical cues, auditory discrimination, and counting but also very multicultural, exposing students to various dances from around the world, representing different historical and social times, cultures, nations, and people.
